Edinburgh Dental Laboratory

One of the most important steps in the evolution of Edinburgh Dental Specialists has been to build our own dental laboratory.

This has been a formidable undertaking not only in terms of the investment in the latest CAD/CAM, porcelain and casting technology but in recruiting the exceptionally talented team of technologists we now have and then guiding their postgraduate education in order to be able to provide the outstanding work which they now can.

The laboratory now has four full time technologists and an administrator producing:

• All acrylic and plastic restorations
• Fixed and removeable implant supported restorations - including single teeth, porcelain and gold or titanium and resin, milled bar 2 part bridges, guided surgery bridges.
• All cosmetic crowns and veneers including, procera, lava, alumina and zirocon, emperess

With only specialist referral work being carried out, the laboratory has developed an enviable expertise in the area of dental implantology with there being no situation to which the technologists cannot now apply themselves.

Currently the laboratory only accepts work from the specialist practice, with further expansion planned in 2008 we hope to be able to offer our expertise in dental implantology to outside practitioners.
